Ideas for future reading????

We only have a book chosen through January, so we should be thinking about possible choices for the Valentine-y short month. If you want to recommend something, please comment to this post, so we can see possibles as a thread. If we have several suggestions on this blog, we'll be ready to make an informed vote in January.

What about Karl Marx "Capital" ?
I bought a paperback from amazon.com.

Here is a comment to ponder:
Francis Wheen, biographer of Karl Marx, argues that as long as capitalism endures, Marx's masterwork, Das Kapital, will be required reading. First published in 1867, Marx's influential critique laid the groundwork for thinkers and revolutionaries to follow.

A couple of books that are still only in hardback (but with lots of used copies and library availability) that sound really interesting are Ha Jin's A Free Life
http://www.slate.com/id/2178289/fr/rss/
and Steven Pinker's The Stuff of Thought, http://pinker.wjh.harvard.edu/books/stuff/index.html

A book that we mentioned as a future prospect at the December meeting was The Maytrees by Annie Dillard

Those that you suggested sound good. I haven't checked out the links yet but the titles sound good. :-) I like it that we're reading nonfiction.
